Although League of Legends is a team game, some champions are better suited to fight alone. Here are some of the best split pushing champions in the game.
5. Shen
Although Shen has seen more recent play as a support, he can still function effectively as a split push champion. His ultimate, Stand United, gives him the ability to move across the map quickly, just like teleport. The ability to get in a fight across the map is crucial for a split pusher, as it puts pressure on the other team to not slip up.
This ability, in addition to being able to take teleport, gives Shen a leg up against other split pushers, since by having both abilities, he gets two ways to teleport across the map. Shen also has decent escape moves, and is relatively hard to kill when pushing on his own, making him a good pick for the side lane.
4. Gangplank
Gangplank suffered some nerfs in Patch 8.4, but still looks to be a solid split push champion, assuming he he doesn't get held down too much in lane. A global ability like Canon Barrage is one of the best tools for a split pusher, because it allows someone like Gangplank to impact a team fight while pressuring the other side of the map.
Gangplank also has Remove Scurvy to get himself out of many possible gank scenarios when extending into enemy territory.
3. Vladimir
Split pushers tend to be duelists, so it might seem unusual that a team fighting mage would fit this role, but Vladimir has all the tools to be successful in a side lane.
With strong wave clear and a lot of natural healing from his abilities, Vladimir is hard to force back. Additionally, he has Sanguine Pool to dodge damage or crowd control, and keep himself safe while pushing.
2. Fiora
Fiora has access to some of the best dueling abilities in League of Legends, so naturally she does much better as a split pusher. She has a lot of mobility with the low cooldown on Lunge, provided it hits an enemy champion.
The healing from Grand Challenge combined with the ability to dodge crowd control with Riposte allows Fiora to split push without fear of a gank, since she can often turn the tide and win a one vs. two. The sheer pressure Fiora provides in a split push scenario makes her an excellent choice when looking to solo carry a game.
1. Camille
Camille is incredibly strong right now. She has high mobility, consistent single target damage, low cooldowns in the mid game, and three forms of crowd control, making her exceptional in a side lane. Once she completes Trinity Force and Ravenous Hydra there are few champions that can survive her all-in, making her the best choice for split pushing.
A good split pusher should be able to duel an opponent while being able to safely escape when collapsed upon. Most of these champions can stand toe-to-toe in a duel, while still being able to escape because of their high mobility, making them ideal split pushers.
