Anthony Copeland Career
Anthony was born and raised in Memphis, TN and he is no stranger to extreme weather. Actually, his interest in meteorology was sparked at the age of 14 during the 2008 Super Tuesday Tornado Outbreak when Copeland witnessed his first tornado right in his front yard.
He studied and graduated from the University of Memphis (Go Tigers!) where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and was an active member of the National Association of Black Journalism student chapter (NABJ).
Additionally, after earning his bachelor’s, Anthony decided to pursue his Certification in Meteorology at Mississippi State. While there, Copeland interned at both WMC-TV in Memphis and WBTV in Charlotte, NC prior to starting his career in Evansville.
Furthermore, Anthony looks forward to getting involved in the community and bonding with locals over a couple of things that Memphians and Omahans have in common—a love of collegiate sports and food!
In his spare time, Anthony enjoys being in the kitchen, making his world-famous blueberry muffins and mac and cheese. During his free time, Copeland enjoys working out, hiking, and checking out new restaurants—he’s not a bad spades partner either.
