Ghost of Tsushima Dismemberment isn't a large part of the game.
Sucker Punch Productions has done quite a bit to immerse its players into its newest open-world title, Ghost of Tsushima. The game takes place in Feudal era Japan on a separate island currently under assault by an invasion of Mongols from the west. Players step into the shoes of Jin, a samurai warrior, as he battles for revenge and the liberation of his homeland.
Players have done nothing but praise the title for its realism, graphic quality, and overall handling so far. Like most games with combat included, prospective buyers should be prepared to see a little gore—but just how far does it go?
Later today, Patch 1.05 for #GhostOfTsushima will be released, adding a new Lethal difficulty level, a new option for Lower Intensity combat, and new text settings.

Ghost of Tsushima Dismemberment: Can You Target Enemies' Limbs?
There is a minor bit of dismemberment in Ghost of Tsushima. While players cannot direct Jin to target specific parts of the body—i.e., they can't have him cut off arms and legs—there is still a chance he will cut off hands and other pieces on his own.
Jin can also completely decapitate his enemies if given the opportunity. Players report that using one of his assassination techniques can prompt Jin to cut off the head of the targeted enemy. Slaughter allows players to come up behind an enemy and dispatch them quickly. For Jin, this includes removing their heads from their shoulders.
Ultimately, however, players looking for the maximum gore will be disappointed. There is no option to hack your enemies to pieces or anything similar.
