Attention glamazon wannabes: You too can get on the other side of the velvet rope during the designer swimwear shows in Miami Beach this week.

After being somewhat beached last year with smaller productions and lots of virtual presentations due to the coronavirus pandemic, the marathon of runway shows spotlighting swimsuits and resortwear is splish-splashing into South Beach again this week, launching styles for the spring/summer 2022 season.

And once again there will be a packed calendar of satellite events sprinkled throughout South Beach nightclubs, restaurants and hotels with most of the action taking place July 8-11.

But it isn’t all “industry-only.” There are some catwalk capers, pop-up shops and fashion-y events you can go to that are just a few online clicks away.

Here’s a list (and keep in mind that ticket prices do not include taxes and fees).

The WAVE Miami Beach Fashion Show on Thursday, July 8, will include five designer collections on the catwalk. South Beach’s Española Way will be closed between Washington and Collins Avenues for models to walk an 80-foot outdoor runway starting at 7 p.m. The show will benefit Silent Victims of Crime. The Segunda Mano Thrifted & Sustainable Fashion Show will be Thursday, July 8, starting at 8:30 p.m. in the Miami Design District at Paradise Plaza, 151 NE 41st St., #3547, Miami. DC Swim Week will take place July 8-11 poolside at SLS South Beach, 1701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. Named after another fashion week originally staged in our nation’s capital, the Miami Beach edition will feature nightly designer group shows starting at 7 p.m. There will also be after-show parties at HYDE Beach. The Oh Polly! Pop Up Shop will take place from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. July 8-11 poolside at the SLS South Beach Miami, 1701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. Planet Fashion TV will present six opening shows on Friday, July 9 at the Plymouth Hotel at 336B 21st St., Miami Beach. Doors open at 7 p.m. and fashion shows will run on the half hour from 8-10:30 p.m. There will be an after-party at the Boulon Hotel next door from 10:30 to 2 a.m. Tickets are $25 (or $2,000 for a VIP package for six people). Sports Illustrated will hold a runway show as part of the Paraiso Miami Beach on Saturday, July 10 at Baia Beach Club at the Mondrian South Beach, 1100 West Ave., Miami Beach. Produced in a partnership with StyleMarket305 (a platform for emerging talent), the pop-up will be on both the ground floor and on the SKY YARD rooftop and will feature 15 local and national designers, boutiques and beauty products.
