Crime and Public Safety | Lauderhill man arrested in shooting death of woman in North Lauderdale

A Lauderhill man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a woman gunned down early Sunday in North Lauderdale, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Robert Headley, 59, was booked on one count of second-degree murder with a firearm and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Details about the fatal shooting, including the victim’s name, have yet to be released.

Broward deputies arrived in the 1100 block of Sussex Drive about 4:30 a.m. Sunday and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds inside the residence. She was pronounced dead at the scene, said sheriff’s office spokesperson Miranda Grossman.
