First it was the air conditioning.
Now it’s the floor.
Deerfield Beach Percy White Library once again will be closed, this time on September 6.
“It’s for new carpeting,” said Catherine McElrath, of E-Services, Libraries Division. “The carpet is worn and is being replaces as part of regular maintenace.”
It’s the second time this summer the library has encouraged patrons to seek out other branches. On July 12, the branch at 837 E. Hillsboro Blvd. was closed to repair the air conditioner. “The compressor broke and was replaced,” McElrath explained.
As with that temporary closure, the list of four library alternatives applies:
* Pompano Beach Branch, 1213 E. Atlantic Blvd.;
* Century Plaza Branch in Deerfield Beach, at 1856A. W. Hillsboro Blvd.;
* Pompano Beach’s Northwest Branch at 1580 N.W. Third Ave. and
* North Regional/BCC Lilbrary at 100 Coconut Creek Boulevard in Coconut Creek.
