The transfer portal is sending another player to Coral Gables.
Maryland defensive lineman Darell Jackson committed to the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday, announcing his intent to transfer to UM on his Twitter account.
Jackson, who is a North Florida native, picked Miami over Florida. He took visits to Florida, FSU and Miami while he was in the transfer portal. He is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound interior lineman.
Jackson played one season with the Terrapins, playing all 13 games and making 22 total tackles. Six of those tackles came in Maryland’s New Era Pinstripe Bowl victory over Virginia Tech.
Jackson is the fifth defensive lineman to transfer to Miami this offseason, joining Mitchell Agude (UCLA), Jake Lichtenstein (USC), Akheem Mesidor (West Virginia) and Antonio Moultrie (UAB).
The Hurricanes have added 11 players through the transfer portal during the offseason.
