Before the pitchforks come out, please know that this is not a definitive list of every weapon that is good in PvE Destiny 2. Weapons that are left off this list are not bad or “trash.”

This is merely a curated greatest hits collection from our various Destiny 2 weapon guides including at least one of nearly every weapon type to help build up your legendary weapon collection with a variety of great guns.

Let’s highlight, though, a few of the biggest and best Destiny 2 PvE weapons that are particularly game-changing that you should definitely have.

The most impactful, if you can consistently clear Deep Stone Crypt, are its raid weapons; particularly: Commemoration, Heritage, Posterity, Succession, and Trustee.

These weapons, thanks to the unique perk Reconstruction that they can all roll with, are all among the best PvE legendary weapons in Destiny 2 right now as of Beyond Light. Collect them all with Reconstruction and that can be the backbone of your legendary weapon collection.

You’re also going to want to get a good roll of Falling Guillotine with something like Whirlwind Blade and Tireless Blade. Swords are among the best PvE legendary weapons right now in Destiny 2 and Falling Guillotine is by far the best legendary sword you can have. Having that as a solid boss DPS weapon frees up your exotic slot for something else if you wish.

Finally, it’s also worth highlighting the Seventh Seraph and Ikelos weapons which are notable because of the ease in which they can create Warmind Cells for builds that are based around those mods. The ones listed above are arguably the best of those family of weapons, but any well-rolled Ikelos or Seventh Seraph weapon is worth hanging onto.

Best Exotic Weapons for PvE & Raids in Destiny 2 (2022)

  • Cloudstrike (Sniper Rifle, Energy, Arc)
  • Dead Man’s Tale (Scout Rifle, Kinetic)
  • Divinity (Trace Rifle, Energy, Arc)
  • Eriana’s Vow (Hand Cannon, Energy, Solar)
  • Eyes of Tomorrow (Rocket Launcher, Power, Solar)
  • Gjallarhorn (Rocket Launcher, Power, Solar, Exotic)
  • Izanagi’s Burden (Sniper Rifle, Kinetic)
  • Jotunn (Fusion Rifle, Energy, Solar)
  • Monte Carlo (Auto Rifle, Kinetic)
  • No Time to Explain (Pulse Rifle, Kinetic)
  • One Thousand Voices (Fusion Rifle, Power, Solar)
  • Outbreak Perfected (Pulse Rifle, Kinetic)
  • Riskrunner (SMG, Energy, Arc)
  • Sunshot (Hand Cannon, Energy, Solar)
  • The Huckleberry (SMG, Kinetic)
  • The Lament (Sword, Power, Solar)
  • The Fourth Horseman (Shotgun, Energy, Arc)
  • Ticuu’s Divination (Bow, Energy, Solar)
  • Traveler’s Chosen (Sidearm, Kinetic)
  • Trinity Ghoul (Bow, Energy, Arc)
  • Vex Mythoclast (Energy, Solar, Exotic)
  • Whisper of the Worm (Sniper Rifle, Power, Solar)
  • Witherhorde (Grenade Launcher, Kinetic)
  • Xenophage (Machine Gun, Power, Solar)

Same disclaimer as for the legendary weapons, let’s look at the best exotic weapons for Destiny 2’s PvE scene that you’ll want to have in your arsenal ASAP.

Let’s mention a few of the absolutely critical weapons when it comes to difficult PvE encounters such as Nightfalls and raids right away first: Anarchy, Divinity, Eriana’s Vow, The Lament, and Xenophage.

With those five exotic weapons in hand, there’s really nothing you won’t be able to do when it comes to boss damage for anything remotely difficult in Destiny 2’s PvE scene.

Drilling down a bit further from there are the three exotic snipers: Cloudstrike, Izanagi’s Burden, and Whisper of the Worm. In a situation where you need to do long-range DPS and Xenophage isn’t as good an option, you won’t go wrong with using one of those three exotics.

As far as clearing out waves of enemies quickly, another situation you’re going to want to consider using your exotic weapon for: Eyes of Tomorrow, The Huckleberry, Trinity Ghoul and Witherhorde stand out above the rest.

Riskrunner is also just as good if you are fighting Fallen (and to a lesser extent Hive) to get its exotic chain lightning attacks rolling by taking Arc damage. If you’re a big hand cannon fan, Sunshot can also be quite destructive in the add clearing role.

Finally, popular exotics that are among the best for ability builds include Monte Carlo for anything melee-centered, and Traveler’s Chosen which helps recharge all of your abilities.

That’s all for our picks for the best legendary weapons for PvE and raids in Destiny 2 and the best exotics for PvE and raids as of the current meta in Beyond Light and Season of the Chosen. Did we leave out something that’s your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.
