Evert ten Napel, has reportedly confirmed that EA has purchased the UEFA license, which most thought would happen after PES lost the rights yearly this year. Napel was on a Dutch Fox Sports broadcast when he leaked the information.

"For about six or seven days a year, I record updated lines [for the game] in the studio in Utrecht with Youri Mulder," said Napel. “In 2019 as well, the game will get even better, because they've added the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. I'm almost finished with the 2019 version, which will then go to the test center."

In the previous FIFA games, the Champions League was rebranded as Champions Cup because of licensing reasons.

This would be a huge movie by EA, as it opens it up ton of possible features that the game can now include thanks to the brand new license agreement. Changes to things like Career Mode and Ultimate Team could be coming to FIFA 19, as well as The Journey, which might be making a return for the third year in a row.

EA Sports has not made an announcement on the matter.
