Later, she moved to the Big Apple from 2000 – 2002 with WCBS, where she was a writer and field producer and covered the 9/11 terrorist attacks. From 2002 and 2005, she worked for three years as a reporter for News 12 in Long Island, New York.

She also earned two regional Emmy awards for her reporting and journalistic work.
