How to Play Stardew Valley Cross-Platform
It may come as a surprise to learn this, but no, Stardew Valley is not a cross-platform game. While the game is playable across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, among other platforms, there is no way to cross-play it with gamers on other systems. This is probably a major shock, but lead developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone explained why cross-play would not come to fruition on Twitter.
Unfortunately, there will not be crossplay. Apparently, the technical barriers are very high. It's still something I really want to add and I promise to look into it more closely, but first priority is getting the update out there

While ConcernedApe has mentioned that multiplayer is something he really wants to look into, the odds seem heavily stacked against this ever coming to fruition. Keep in mind, ConcernedApe’s tweet was written in 2018, so if there hasn’t been any movement on this front since, it seems likely that it won’t happen. This is disappointing to hear, but hopefully, the small chance of cross-play comes to fruition at some point.
