The piece features Sora and Riku standing back-to-back in what appears to be the Realm of Darkness. The scene when Sora came to Riku's aid in the Realm of Darkness was a pivotal moment in the game.
2. Aqua
Aqua's time spent wandering and waiting in the Realm of Darkness affected her greatly. The glowing eyes of Heartless can be seen behind, with Darkness floating around her. The gold and orange are leaving her eye, signaling the end of Anti-Aqua. The small beam of light refers to Aqua eventually being rescued by Sora and the other characters. Upon finding out she was free from the Realm of Darkness, Aqua began to cry, which was also seen in the fan art. It's a powerful depiction of an important moment for Aqua.
