Lark DiMucci’s father Dion began singing when he was five years old. Uncle Lou would later purchase him a guitar and teach him a few chords a few years later. Paul Whitman, a 1920s bandleader who by the 1950s was most recognized for identifying and developing emerging talent, was introduced to him by his father. At the age of twelve, Dion began appearing with Whitman on East Coast radio and television shows, including Whitman’s own Teen Club.
