The popular Joseph’s Classic Market has brought its fresh market to the western communities with its recently opened store on the corner of U.S. Highway 441 and Southern Boulevard in the Village Shoppes on 441 plaza in Royal Palm Beach.
“We’re built on quality at good prices,” said store manager Dominick Cassanelli. “It’s OK to be inexpensive, but you have to have quality behind it.”
This is the store’s second location, with three more in the works. The first location is at 4595 Northlake Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens. The next one will open in Boca Raton in April. Cassanelli said customers have told him that they especially love Joseph’s seafood market because there are not places that are close to get good seafood.
“Customers seem to be very attracted to our seafood,” he said.
Something else customers are attracted to are the specials. One of those ongoing specials is a dinner for two that includes an entree, two sides, salad and dessert for $14.99. The market offers a variety of prepared meals like lasagna, eggplant Florentine, Italian-style meatballs, Hawaiian roast pork, veal Marsala, Italian crispy baked chicken and jumbo shrimp parmigiana.
Cassanelli said customers like the dinner-for-two special so much that they recently sold 160 in one day.
“I love Joseph’s. I got a cake here the other night and it was out of this world,” said Jane Moore, of Wellington. “Their produce is wonderful and there’s always good prices.”
As for prices, she said she was particularly impressed with the grouper for $9.99 a pound.
Cassanelli said the store started off slow but quickly picked up and the new location has not been affected by the recession.
“Fortunately, we’ve been immune to the recession,” he said. “We’re growing by the day.”
Something else that sets Joseph’s apart, he said, was their friendly customer service and Northeastern charm.
“We want people to feel comfortable more than anything,” he said.
