MEUNIER-LEBOUC JUGGLES IMPENDING PREGNANCY, GOLF

France’s Patricia Meunier-Lebouc is trying to balance her lofty career goals with her desire to start a family.

So her problem at this week’s ADT Championship isn’t just balance in the symbolic sense.

It’s keeping her footing while swinging around her belly.

She’s six months pregnant with her first child.

“I’ve lost a lot of distance because I can’t use my tummy,” said Meunier-Lebouc, who lives in Jupiter with her husband, Antoine. “I’ve lost about 20 yards on my driving distance and about two clubs on my irons.”

Meunier-Lebouc, 31, who broke through to win her first major, the Kraft Nabisco in March, isn’t sure she will play this week. She will check with her doctors before teeing it up Thursday. She said she had some contractions this week and has been ill throughout the pregnancy.

Off to the best start of her career, Meunier-Lebouc sacrificed a chance for more riches by becoming pregnant.

“I’ve not achieved all the things I could have, but I don’t mind,” she said. “It was just very important to me to have a baby. You can’t have everything.”

Suzann Pettersen is the first alternate.

Contract talks

Donald Trump and the LPGA are expected to announce a contract extension this week that will make Trump International Golf Club home to the ADT Championship for three more years. Last month, ADT Security Services President Mike Snyder signed a three-year deal to extend the company’s sponsorship agreement with the LPGA through 2006.
