A bug in Modern Warfare appears to have prevented one player from receiving the coveted and hard-to-get Damascus weapon camouflage.
Modern Warfare subreddit user u/ebai69 posted a video Friday showing that they had unlocked the platinum camo for everything in the game, which in turn should unlock the Damascus camo. It's also apparent in their video that they don't have access to the Damascus camo for unknown reasons.
"I recently got platinum for everything int he game but it decided not to give me the Damascus camo," ebai69 wrote in their post. "I don't [think] it's fair that I went through that long and hard grind to not get the reward I deserve."
Unlocking the Damascus camo is an incredible feat of grinding. First, a player has to complete all the camo challenges for a single gun to unlock its gold camo. Then they must do the same for every weapon in that class — all submachine guns, for example — to get the platinum camo for that weapon class. Only when they've unlocked platinum camo for every single base weapon in the game can they unlock Damascus.
It's unclear what prevented the Damascus camo from becoming available. Infinity Ward has yet to offer an explanation.
