Neal Curtland Hoch, beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away on February 2nd, 2024, in Highpoint, NC at the age of 49. Neal was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Son of Richard Hoch and Michiko Yoshikawa, Stepson of Nicole Hoch, Brother of Chris (Catherine), Alex (Kendall) Andrew (Jenna), and nephews Hayden, Branden, and Camden Hoch. Neal was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Ingeborg Hoch and his aunt Evelyn Hoch.
Neal loved sports, especially Little League soccer and baseball. He was the pitcher for his team in the adult Softball League at Mills Pond. As a kid, he loved water skiing and wakeboarding. He especially enjoyed fishing and golfing with his buddies. He loved music and playing the piano. Neal attended Fort Lauderdale High School. His interest in lighting led him to the Chili Pepper/Edge as the special effects lighting technician. Neal was kind and well-liked by his colleagues and peers. He started his landscaping business creating beautiful gardens for his clients and moved to North Carolina in 2021. His lifelong friends have always been a source of support and love.
The outpouring of support and kind words about Neal’s big heart has comforted his grieving family. Neal leaves a legacy of kindness. A Memorial Service will be at St Anthony Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 23rd, 2024. A Celebration of Life will follow. Neal will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Heaven.
