NEW LAW FIRM OFFERS FREE ADVICE ON RADIO

Partners in a new Hollywood-based law firm, Jeffrey L. Welt and Daniel J. Rheaume, will be giving free legal advice Saturday during a call-in radio talk show on WAVS, AM 1170.

Between 7:30 and 8 p.m., Welt and Rheaume will be answering listeners’ questions on personal injury, bankruptcy, civil and criminal issues.

The law firm of Welt and Rheaume, at 2700 N. 29th Ave., Suite 306, was founded in early March.

Before opening the office, Welt was an associate within the bankruptcy and creditor’s rights section of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson PA in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. According to the firm, he also served as assistant state attorney for Miami-Dade County.

Welt received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami in 1992 and law degree from the St. Thomas University School of Law in 1996.

He is a member of The Florida Bar and the Dade County and Bankruptcy Bar associations.

Rheaume previously was with the North Miami-based litigation firm of Mintz, Truppman, Clein & Higer PA. His experience includes general civil litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, insurance litigation and product liability, according to the firm.

Rheaume received his undergraduate degree from St. Leo College, a master’s degree in aeronautical science at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and law degree from the St. Thomas School of Law.

Rheaume has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1996. He also is a member of the Dade, North Dade and American Bar associations; Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and Peter T. Faye American Inn of Court.

In addition, the pair has been involved with several charities including the Leukemia Society, United Foundation for AIDS, the Miami HEAT Family Outreach Charitable Fund, The Miami Dolphins Foundation and The Dan Marino Foundation.

Small business expo

In honor of National Small Business Week, an expo on May 11 in Hallandale Beach will feature small business owners from south Broward and north Miami-Dade counties.

They will be exhibiting and selling their wares from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Avalon Place, 668 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd.

The 2002 Small Business Week Expo is open to the public. Parking and admission are free.

Speakers from the local business community will present free talks on a variety of topics, such as “How the Small Business Administration Can Help You,” “Getting More Bang For Your Advertising Buck,” “What Does Uncle Sam Want From Me,” “How To Make The Big Decisions” and “Sell Your Services and Products With Your Computer.”

Space is available for up to 50 exhibitors. Space may be rented for $250.
