The background in a splash art image from Paladins Strike is the same art image of the loading screen for Overwatch's Lijiang Tower map.
The video shows the comparison of the two backgrounds and the two images match up perfectly. The background of Paladins Strike is blurred with a character front and center, but elements of Lijiang are still recognizable.
Hi-Rez was made aware of the usage of Overwatch backgrounds in a Paladins Reddit post and made the following statement on the matter, "First thing, thank you for your diligence in pointing this out. This art was created by a overseas partner studio for paladins strike and had not much in the way of oversight in its content creation by anyone internally at Hi-Rez. We will be looking into this immediately."
Hi-Rez already has plans to combat this type of error from its team, writing that, "Moving forward we are well underway in a bit of a shift in how I plan to see our splash art executed to make things feel a little more unique to paladins that should hopefully allow us to control content creation better with a larger quality of output to boot, stay tuned."
