Patrick Wilson is a well-known American actor and singer best known for his portrayal of Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera. Patrick was born in Norfolk, Virginia, to voice teacher and professional singer Mary Kathryn (Burton) and news anchor John Franklin Wilson.
He has received two Tony Award nominations for his roles in The Full Monty (2000-2001) and Oklahoma! (2002). In 2003, he received Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations for his performance in the HBO miniseries Angels in America. He was nominated in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie. In 2015, he received a second Golden Globe Award nomination.

Wilson debuted as an actor in 1995, serving as an understudy for Chris Scott in the Miss Saigon national tour. The following year, he played Billy Bigelow on the national tour of Carousel. In 1999, Wilson played the lead role of Jamie Conway in the Off-Broadway production of Bright Lights, Big City. Two years later, in 2000, Wilson debuted on Broadway as Jerry Lukowski in The Full Monty.[8] He received nominations for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical and the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his work in the part.
He wrapped his production on the unreleased movie My Sister’s Wedding in 2000. He sang a rendition of “On the Street Where You Live” from My Fair Lady during Julie Andrews’ 2001 Kennedy Center Honors event.
