Administrative and facilities managers are preparing for a monumental move over at Plumosa School of the Arts. For the past couple of years, Plumosa students, faculty, parents and staff, have been excited about a move to its newest digs, at a cost of $30 million. It’s virtually next door to the Plumosa Elementary School that has served as one the city’s most important educational institutions for 56 years. But, principal Priscilla Maloney said just one last thing stands in the way, a key in the form of a permit of occupancy.
“We hope to start moving stuff on Aug. 2; we hope that the POC will be in place by Aug. 2. The boxes are packed and the movers are ready,” she said.
Plumosa’s facilities management staff won’t have to clean the new school, the main logistics of the rest of their summer will be getting acclimated and everything in place before students arrive on Aug. 17, the first day of school.
Plumosa School of the Arts is located at: 1712 NE Second Ave., Delray Beach. For more information call 561-243-1562.
