Shiny Electrike in Pokémon GO is the newest shiny line of Pokémon added to the game this September. With the start of a new month comes new Research tasks and completing those tasks is the key to all the rewards trainers are able to receive. Clearly Niantic Labs has rolled out way more than the shiny carpet with this one.
Here's how you can get your chance at a shiny Electrike.
Here’s a recap video of some of our biggest bonuses, as well as a fully detailed breakdown:

Shiny Electrike in Pokémon GO
Electrike, PokéDex #309, is also known as the "Lightning Pokémon". Unsurprisingly, it's an electric type. It evolves into Manetric at level 26 and both Pokémon tend to resemble funky, bright colored dogs. Electrike's normal colors are green with yellow accents and black eyes while its shiny version replaces the green with blue. This Pokémon belongs to Generation III.
In order to see a shiny Electrike, you'll need to perform the new Research Tasks given to you by Professor Willow. The specific task you're looking for is "Battle Another Trainer," in which you'll need to challenge one of your friends to a battle. Winning or losing doesn't matter -- at least to the game. It should be noted that you aren't guaranteed a shiny Electrike encounter. Electrike is the Pokémon you will battle, but whether it pops as shiny is up to chance.
Other highlights of the new research tasks include lots of chances at a shiny of your favorite Kanto starter, the return of Spinda pattern variation 3#, and Eevee with a flower crown that persists into its evolutions.
