FIRST TEAM
Davi Belfort, QB, Western senior: The Virginia Tech commit is the seventh-ranked dual-threat QB in the country on Rivals and ESPN; was invited to play in the Under Armour All-American game; had 2,600 passing yards, 515 rushing yards, 24 passing TDs, nine rushing touchdowns, 67 completion percentage; helped Wildcats defeat No. 1 ranked team in Georgia; career highlight relationships made with friends during high school career; also, boxes.
Jabari Brady, WR, Monarch sophomore: Team captain finished the year with 70 receptions for 1,392 yards and 12 scores; added 22 tackles on defense with two INTs, including a pick-six and forced fumble; helped the school win the regional championship for first time in school history; runs track and plays basketball.
Martaz Charles, OL, Western senior: Finished with 29 pancakes and a TD; contributed five tackles and a sack on defense; most proud of becoming a captain after not listening and talking back to the coaches early on in his career; said coaches saw the change in his approach and made him a captain; beating old school Piper 49-0 was a season highlight.
Ben Gula, OL, Cypress Bay sophomore: Leading Lightning offensive lineman had 20 pancake blocks in a win over Cooper City; said his career highlight is just being able to play football and helping the team to an 8-3 record; plays basketball.
Jamarie Hostzclaw, RB, Coconut Creek senior: Top Cougars’ offensive threat led the team with 16 TDs, 1,100 rushing yards, 150 yards receiving, and 1,250 all-purpose yards; the Alabama State University commit was able to finish big runs and development of his team; said scoring in big moments was the highlight and the best thing to happen to him was becoming the leader he is and playing with his teammates.
Koby Howard, WR, Western junior: Rebounded from a broken leg last year to finish with 1,669 all-purpose yards; finished with six carries for 224 yards, four TDs; 65 receptions for 1,065 yards and 8 TDs; career highlight was scoring four TDs and finishing with 300 all-purpose yards in 34-14 win over Plantation; runs track.
Andrew Indorf, QB, St. Thomas Aquinas junior: Two-time state champion was 11 for 19 and three scores in the Raiders’ record fifth consecutive state championship game; threw for 2,273 yards and 28 TDs; ran for 123 rushing yards, two scores; 160 for 244 passing (65% completion percentage); most proud that his O-Line didn’t give up a sack in the state championship 31-28 win over Homestead.
James Madison II, WR, St. Thomas Aquinas senior: The four-star commit is headed to the University of 396Missouri; was Raiders’ leading receiver with 47 catches for 617 yards and 10 TDs; added 219 yards on kickoff returns; chipped in with nine tackles on defense.
Joshua Moore, WR, West Broward junior: The Sun Sentinel Super 11 selection helped the Bobcats reach the postseason for a second straight season; led the team with 835 yards and nine TDs despite missing two games; with a quad injury; has school record for most yards by a wide receiver; most proud of not letting the injury hold him back.
Eric Nelson Jr., WR, Miramar senior: The FIU commit helped the Patriots reach the third round of the playoffs; totaled 65 catches for 1,133 yards and 12 touchdowns; said career highlight was going for 248 yards and 2 TDs in the second round of playoffs; most proud of reaching 1,000 yards and making first-team All-County.
Samari Reed, WR, Monarch junior: Wound up the year with 56 catches for 1,311 yards and 15 TDs; had a kickoff return for a TD and nine pancakes; totaled 1,560 all-purpose yards and helped lead the Knights to their first regional championship; chipped in with 13 tackles, two forced fumbles and three sacks on defense; also plays basketball.
Chance Robinson, WR, St. Thomas Aquinas senior: The UM commit and Sun Sentinel Super 11 selection said he was most proud of his school winning a fifth consecutive state championship; finished the season with 36 receptions for 513 yards and 11 TDs; said career highlight was making a one-handed catch against Miramar and had three scores.
Marcel Williams, ATH, Blanche Ely senior: The Marshall commit was a Swiss Army knife for the Tigers; despite constant double teaming, he finished with 819 yards and 10 TDs on offense and also was 11 of 12 on extra points for the Tigers; most proud of a one-handed catch against rival Dillard and said career highlight was beating the Panthers in back-to-back seasons.

CO-COACHES OF THE YEAR
Roger Harriott, St. Thomas Aquinas: Led Raiders to a state-record fifth consecutive state championship and 15th overall; ranked No. 10 in the country; and led team to wins in 41 of its past 42 games dating back to 2021. “I’m extremely proud of the coaching staff and our players for their tireless work ethic as we focused on doing the little things right … The theme this season was “Brotherly Love” and each team member (players, coaches, support staff) played a vital role in helping us win this historical record-setting 2023 State Championship.”
Calvin Davis, Monarch: Guided Knights to an 11-3 record and first state semifinal appearance. Most proud of making the Final Four and having a chance to compete to go to State; also proud of having a QB (AJ Hairston) who has been at school for four years and him having an opportunity to go D1 at UMass. “Although we did not finish our goal of winning a state title, we are one step closer than we were before and will get to work on getting there next year.”
