Valheim Wishbone Guide

Below, we've broken down the most crucial aspects of the Wishbone item: where to find it and what it does.

Wishbone Location

Warriors can find the Wishing Bone by defeating the Swamp biome boss, Bonemass. Once warriors have brought it down, they will be given the Wishbone as a reward for their efforts--alongside a few other trophies.

Wishbone Details

Once obtained, the Wishbone's primary function is to help players find loot. The game quite literally describes it as an "ancient bone [that] remembers the location of many forgotten things." Simply equip it to start hunting.

While warriors are out exploring the map, the Wishbone will alert them to secret treasures nearby with puffs of green particles and a soft ringing sound. This is its way of showing that something is within 20 meters of the location. The particles get more visible, more frequent, and the sound continues to increase in speed and pitch as a warrior gets closer.

From there, they can choose to dig. The most common things to find with a Wishbone are Muddy Scrap Piles, Silver veins, and Buried Treasure. Once claimed, the Wishbone should fall silent—though some players report needing to relog their character for this to occur.
