VIDEO: Mew2King Shows How to Defeat Marth Ledge Camping

Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman has been at the center of debate for a new ledge grab limit in Melee. The limit would keep players from hogging the edge of the stage with invincibility frames; Marth and Jigglypuff excel at this technique. Since the opponent can't approach and the player at the ledge has no need to approach while in the lead, ledge grabbing leads to timeouts.

Should be no ledge grab limit except for only puff. 1) puff racks up ledge grabs way slower 2) puff has to be edge guarded multiple times.

Although Mew2King has stated that there should be a ledge grab limit for Jigglypuff, he has also used the technique recently in a tournament with Marth, so his own example does not help his case.

He timed out Weston "Westballz" Dennis at Saints Gaming Live 2017; Westballz was down in stocks but opted to practice his tech skill without approaching the ledge until it was too late.

In his own stream, Mew2King and his guest Justin "Plup" McGrath riffed on Westballz's tactic and his subsequent complaints about Mew2King camping the ledge. Mew2King claimed that he could show the optimal way to punish Marth on the ledge.

His laughs during the clip showing exactly how he feels about Westballz's complaints about Marth. This might be Mew2King's way of suggesting that the solution to Marth ledge camping is NOT practicing tech on the stage until a timeout.
