C.B. Smith Park will offer a waterslide night today for all ages.

The park will offer discounted tickets at $5 per person, compared to the regular $7 fee, for unlimited rides from 6 to 11 p.m. down its 700-foot waterslides.

Riders must be at least 42 inches tall and children age 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Children’s storytime scheduled at book store

Children are invited for a storytime session at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 11820 Pines Blvd.

There will be readings from books in the store’s “Reading Rainbow” display.

Perera, Torres to perform Saturday in park concert

Jazz artists Roberto Perera and Nestor Torres will perform at the Moonlight & Music Jazz Concert on Saturday at C.B. Smith Park, 900 N. Flamingo Road.

The concert runs from 7 to 11 p.m. Listeners may bring a blanket and lawn chair.

No coolers, picnic baskets or pets will be permitted.

The concert is being sponsored by Pembroke Pines and the Sun-Sentinel.

Tickets are available for $10 in advance through Ticketmaster and at the Parks and Recreation Department’s main office, 501 SW 172nd Avenue. Tickets will be $15 at the event.

Origami lesson offered at Young at Art Museum

Young at Art Children’s Museum will give children ages 6 and older the chance to learn the Japanese art of paper folding at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The activity is being offered in celebration of Asian Heritage Month at the museum, 11584 State Road 84, Davie. The cost is $1 per child.

Broadwalk’s June lineup includes R&B; and Elvis

The Broadwalk Concert Series in Hollywood has announced its June lineup, featuring a variety of music ranging from Rhythm and Blues to a tribute to Elvis Presley.

The concerts, scheduled for 7:30 every Wednesday night, provide a seating area and open spaces for people wanting to dance and sway to the music.

The month kicks off on June 6 with the R&B; group the South Providers, followed on June 13 by the Fabulons, who have opened for Chubby Checker, The Temptations and Dick Clark.

The fun continues a week later with Amber Leigh, who has a country music and fiddling exhibition.

Chris MacDonald, an Elvis impersonator who has gained fame throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties, will conclude the month with a concert that spans “The King’s” career.
