In the early 1990s, Walsh started her television career working as a news reporter for the Los Angeles UPN station. She also served as a west coast correspondent for NBC’s Weekend Today. She appeared in almost 200 episodes of the entertainment television news show Extra in 1995 and 1996 as a journalist and occasional anchor.
She was featured on multiple reality television shows and pilots on various cable networks in the 1990s and 2000s. She served as a panelist and co-host on The Doctors for its fourth season in 2011, which resulted in the program being nominated for an Emmy.
She appeared as a featured commentator on the Get A Life DVD box set version in 2012, providing a psychiatric examination of the fictional character Chris Peterson.
Wendy was also selected a Time Magazine Person of the Year in 2017 for her bravery in speaking up about sexual harassment victims on Fox News. She combined her interests in relationship science, evolutionary psychology, and media production in 2019 when she co-hosted the now-popular podcast “Mating Matters” with iHeartMedia.
