The Coral Springs Women’s Softball League will hold its spring tryouts at Forest Hills Park on Riverside Drive in Coral Springs, just north of Royal Palm Blvd.
Beginning with the league’s first live performance at 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, the softball tryouts consist of players doing their best to participate in the local adult slow-pitch softball league.
Participants are expected to bring a glove, cleats and a desire to compete. Other tryout dates take place at 5 p.m. on Jan. 25 and at 7 p.m. on Jan. 26.

YMCA unveils new sports program
The Parkland YMCA Family Center, a branch of the YMCA of Broward County, announced that registration is now open for various sports programs inside its own local arena.

After-school, multi-sports fun club for boys and girls, ages 6 to 11 from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Winter basketball clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays for players ages 6 to 14. *
Sports of All Sorts for special needs boys and girls ages kindergarten through fifth-grade from 3:30 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Indoor soccer league beginning on March 9.

Indoor basketball league for kids ages 6 to 14 in March.

Volleyball clinics for club volleyball players ages 6 to 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

Volleyball league for club volleyball starts in February.

School-age children classes and after school enrichment classes for school-age children consist of Mad Science, Cheerleading, Ballet, Tumbling and Movement, Kids Cooking Academy, When School Is Out the Y is In for full-day child care fun from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Special events in February include American Heart Month. Visit the Parkland YMCA for wellness incentive programs and lectures. Participants can try the Y for the day as a guest by getting involved in one of the group exercise classes, spin classes, play basketball in the gymnasium or enjoy the Teen and Family Activity center room.
